We always strive to review applications within 3 business days. You can expect an initial response regarding your application within 1 week at the latest.

We always start by thoroughly reviewing your resume (screening) and then call you for an initial introduction. If there’s a good fit, we’ll invite you for an initial interview, during which we’ll introduce you to Merito and ask you about your interests, skills, and ambitions. For certain positions, we may ask you to complete specific tests after this interview. If we are convinced of your candidacy, an offer will follow.

Depending on the position you’re applying for, there will be one or two interviews. We aim to finalize your application within four weeks (screening, interviews, and salary offer).

When you submit your application, we thoroughly review your resume. We’ll then call you to get to know you better through a few targeted questions. We’re also always very interested in your motivation for becoming an HR consultant and where your interest in Hard HR comes from. If we’re on the same page, we’ll invite you for a follow-up interview at our office.

We usually schedule two interviews: an initial meeting via Teams, followed by a second interview with our managing partners at our office.

The first interview always takes place via Teams. During this initial meeting, we’ll explain how we work and what the vacancy of HR & Payroll consultant consists of. Based on this interview, a second interview could follow at our office. If this is the case, you will also receive an invitation for a few online tests.

Yes, this is a standard element in our recruitment process. You'll be able to fill in those tests at your own pace at home.

The tests we send out are:

• a cognitive test
• a language test
• a personality test

All three are taken online. The results of these tests are more indicative in nature and serve as a guide for the second interview.

Yes, before we proceed with a salary offer, we request two references whom we may contact.

If we’re convinced you’re the right fit, we’ll be happy to send you an offer. We’ll invite you back to discuss and sign your contract. Shortly after that, you’ll start as a Junior HR consultant or Senior HR & Payroll consultant at one of Merito's clients.

We'll contact you personnally to discuss why we decided to continue with other candidates. We would love to stay in touch, in case some new opportunities arise in the future.
