When is external Payroll/HR support well-advised?
External support is adviced in case of quick growth or changing environments, long internal absences, complex salary structures or when in need of additional expertise in social law or compliance. The way you're supported, depends on your needs. Are you in need of someone who can support all processes on site, then HR on site is the best option. Would you prefer to outsource some of your HR processes, then HR as a service will be more useful. Are you looking for HR advice? HR advisory will suit you best.
My HR employee is ill/pregnant/absent on the long term, can Merito help?
Yes, Merito can help. Through our service HR on site we can propose an HR consultant who will help you temporarely (full- or parttime) on site.
Soon, I won't have an HR manager anymore, can Merito help?
Yes, Merito can certainly help. A few of our Senior HR consultants have experience in this role, so we have a few interesting profiles we can introduce. In case you would prefer to outsource some of the processes, we can also take those over from you.

Yes, you certainly can. Merito offers HR as a service as well, in which we'll take over some HR tasks or processes from you. This can concern payroll-related tasks, fleet management, HR administration... You won't have to worry about those anymore!

What is the hiring procedure of an HR consultant?
Based on the assignment you send us, we'll propose one or multiple consultants of whom the profile and experience match your demand and needs.
You'll determine with which consultants you would like to have one or multiple interviews.
If there's a match, and you decide to collaborate with one of our consultants, we'll discuss the practical details.
Which profiles do you offer?
We focus mainly on Hard HR profiles, from Junior Payroll officers to Senior HR managers and HR experts (e.g. Payroll, Comp & Ben, HRIS,...).
Can a consultant provide strategic input or just operational support?
Our consultants can provide both operational support and strategic input. Thanks to their experience in Hard HR, they are able to not only carry out day-to-day tasks but also actively contribute to broader HR strategies and policy decisions.
How do you guarantee the quality of your consultants work?
Our consultants are carefully hired based on experience, expertise and soft skills. In addition, we actively monitor assignments to ensure quality. As HR experts, we provide substantive support to our consultants to enable them to perform at their best in their roles.
How soon can a consultant start?
Depending on availabilities of our consultants, they can often start quite soon. In urgent situations we always look for the quickest support solution.
Can I hire a consultant on a fulltime or parttime basis?
Certainly. Our consultants are flexible: from a few days per week til a fulltime support, depending on your needs.
How long can a Merito HR consultant or freelancer stay?
The length of the assignment depends on your needs. We determine an end date in advance, but if you notice the assignment will take longer during the course of it, we can always prolong. This happens in agreement with the consultant or freelancer.
What happens if the collaboration doesn't work?
Quality and good matching are very important to us. If the collaboration doesn't work, we will search for a proper solution together, or we will introduce alternative profiles.
How much does a Merito consultant cost?
This rate depends on the experience the consultant has:
- Junior: 450 to 550€ per day
- Medior: 550 to 650€ per day
- Senior: as from 650€ per day
How much does the service HR as a service cost?
This rate depends on the type of task and whether the need for support is temporarely or structural. We offer a fixed price (per day or per hour) to help you keep your budget under control.
How does the invoice happen at Merito?
The invoices of our HR freelancers and consultants are drafted based on their performances, for which they fill in a timesheet. After your approval of those timesheets, we send out the invoice through Peppol. The payment delay is 30 days.
Does Merito also offer trainings?
